HEADACHE
The diagnosis and treatment of headaches is sometimes a medical procedure particularly difficult and complex. The head pain, or headaches, can be regarded as the result of the interaction of signals that are generated in the brain, blood vessels and nerve endings that surround the vessels.
During an attack of headache, (such as migraine or cluster headaches) the pain can run along the vessels, or along the muscles and joints (as in the case of tension-type headache).
The activation of specific terminations intracranial produces messages that the brain interprets as headache.
Headache Medicine Center is a project of excellence in the diagnosis and treatment of headache diseases created by Professor Fabio Antonaci
MIGRAINE
Migraine can be defined as a familial disorder characterized by recurrent attacks of headache widely variable in their frequency, duration, intensity.
The pain, usually unilateral, intensity moderate or severe, a pulsating character, is associated with autonomic disturbances such as nausea and vomiting, intolerance to light, noise and odors.
